first_imgYouth for Christ‘s Over the Edge fundraiser is a month away, offering anyone a chance to rappel down Tuscaloosa’s largest downtown building for a good cause.Saturday, April 6 will be the WVUA 23’s Lynn Brooks, Gary Harris and many other Tuscaloosans take the plunge after their fundraising efforts.Youth for Christ Executive Director Mike Green said this thrill-seeking fundraiser will help his organization ensure the more than 2,500 young people participating in the charity get the help they’re needing.This event will help provide more Christ-sharing mentors to the youth of Tuscaloosa. Each person who signs up for Over the Edge has a goal of raising at least $1,000 for the organization.But Green said they’re still looking for more potential fundraisers. Ten of them, in fact.“We’re asking the 75 people to go Over the Edge for Tuscaloosa teenagers and do what the youth and our ministries do every day, which is to take a second look at life and where God fits into all that,” Green said.If participants go above and beyond raising $1,000, they’ll be given a Gopro camera on their way down to video their experience, in addition to a free night’s stay in one of Tuscaloosa’s hotels downtown.There’s still time to register for Over the Edge.
